HPAY: create a payment link
This guide shows you how to ask for QUAI by making a link. You send the link (or QR code) to the payer, and they pay you from their own wallet.
Who it's for: anyone who wants to get paid without explaining addresses.
What you'll need
- Your @name or your Quai address (starts with
0x00). You do not have to connect a wallet to create a link. - The person paying needs a Pelagus or Blip wallet, QUAI for the amount, and a little extra for the network fee.
Steps
- Open hartiibiome.com/hpay and click the Create a link tab.
- In the recipient field, enter where the money should go. This is usually you: your
@nameor your0x00…address. It is baked into the link. - Choose an amount mode:
- Fixed amount: type the amount in Amount (QUAI).
- Payer chooses: the payer types their own amount (good for tips and donations).
- Optional: open More options.
- Memo (optional): a note the payer sees, up to 140 characters.
- Link expires: Never, 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days.
- Press Create link.
- Under Your HPAY link you get the link plus a QR code. Use Copy, Share, or Open in Blip.
- Send it to the payer by message, email or show the QR code.
What the payer sees
They open the link on a page titled Pay with QUAI. It shows the Recipient, the address it Resolves to, the Amount to pay (or a box to choose one) and your memo. They connect their wallet and press Pay. After sending they see Sent. Waiting for confirmation on-chain. and then Confirmed on-chain. You can watch for the incoming QUAI in your own wallet.
Fees and limits
- No HPAY service fee. The payer pays only network gas, shown before they sign.
- Memo: 140 characters at most.
- Nothing is stored on Hartii's side; the details live inside the link.
- An expired link shows "This link has expired" and cannot be paid. Make a new one.
Common mistakes
- Qi address. A Qi-ledger address cannot receive QUAI. HPAY refuses it with "That is a Qi-ledger address, not a Quai one. HPAY sends QUAI — use a Quai address." Use a Quai address starting with
0x00. - Typo in the recipient. Check the address the page resolves to before you share. A link with a wrong address sends money to the wrong place.
- Private info in the memo. The memo travels inside the link and can end up in chat history or browser history. Keep it simple.
- Using an @name as your recipient. A handle link looks up the current owner of that name when it is opened. If you need the destination fixed forever, use your address.
- Payer on the wrong network. They must be on Quai Mainnet (chain 9).
- Payer says it's pending. Ask them for the Transaction link and check it on Quaiscan. Tell them not to pay twice until it is clear.
- Old PayLink links from before the rename still work.
