Guide: pools and farms
This guide is for anyone who wants to put their tokens into a HartiiSwap pool, or take them out again. A pool holds two tokens, usually a token and QUAI. People swap against it. When you add liquidity, you get LP tokens, a receipt that shows your share of the pool.
What you need
- A Quai wallet: Pelagus on a computer or Blip on a phone, set to Quai Network.
- Some of the token and some QUAI, in matching value.
- Extra QUAI for network gas, the small fee every transaction pays to the network. Creating a brand new pool costs much more gas than adding to an existing one.
Add liquidity
- Open hartiilabs.com/pools. You see All pools and, if you are connected, My positions.
- Press Add liquidity. On a pool's row you can press Add instead.
- Under Token, pick your token (search, or paste an address). It is paired with QUAI.
- Type the first Amount. You can press Max.
- If the pool already exists, the other amount fills in at the pool's ratio. If it does not exist, you are creating it. The page warns you that the ratio you deposit sets the starting price. For a HartiiLabs token the QUAI side fills in at the token's curve price. Change it only on purpose.
- Check Starting price, Your share of the pool (est.), Network fee (est.) and LP tokens you'll receive (est.).
- Choose a Slippage tolerance: 0.1%, 0.5%, 1.0% or Custom. It is how much the price may move before your deposit cancels.
- Optional: Approve unlimited skips the approval step on future deposits.
- Press Create pool (new pool) or Add liquidity (existing pool). Your wallet first asks for a one-time token approval, then the deposit. The button says Approve in wallet… and then Confirm deposit….
You then see LP tokens received, with links to View my positions and Manage this position.
See your position
Open Pools and look at My positions. It lists your LP tokens, your share, what they are worth now, and Add and Remove shortcuts. Public nodes can lag a few seconds, so a new position may take a moment to appear. It is already yours on-chain.
Remove liquidity
- On My positions, press Remove.
- Pick 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%, drag the slider, or type an exact amount under Or exact LP amount.
- Read You'll receive. It includes your share of the swap fees collected while you were in.
- Optional: tick Receive as WQUAI instead of native QUAI.
- Press Remove liquidity. Approve the LP tokens first if asked, then confirm.
Locking liquidity (optional)
On the add page you can choose to lock a percent of your new LP tokens for a fixed time, from 1 to 90 days. It runs as a second transaction after your deposit. Locks are always temporary and never permanent.
Fees
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Swap fee | 0.30% on every swap |
| Share to liquidity providers | about 0.25% of swap volume; about 0.05% goes to the treasury |
| Network gas | Extra; a new pool costs far more than a later deposit |
Your share of fees is not a separate payment. It builds up inside the pool and comes back with your tokens when you remove liquidity. The amount depends entirely on trading and is never guaranteed.
Farms
A farm pays a reward token to people who stake LP tokens. Open hartiilabs.com/farms. If you see No farms configured yet., no farm is live right now. Check back later.
When a farm exists, its card shows Total staked, Your stake, Earned, Reward rate, Period ends and APR (shown as a dash when it cannot be priced). Type an LP amount, then use:
- Stake to deposit LP tokens (it asks for an approval first).
- Withdraw to take LP tokens back.
- Claim to collect rewards.
- Exit to withdraw everything and claim in one go.
Common mistakes
- Wrong network. Switch your wallet to Quai Network.
- "Not enough" on the button. You lack one of the two tokens. Lower the amounts.
- Wrong starting price on a new pool. Anyone can trade against a badly priced pool right away. Keep the curve price the page fills in.
- Position not showing. Wait a few seconds. Check the pair on quaiscan.io.
- Pending transaction. Do not send again. Read the receipt on Quaiscan first.
