QuaiAxe: set up a miner
QuaiAxe lets a miner choose how much of each reward is used to buy and permanently burn the QAXE token, and how much comes back to their own wallet. The config generator at quaiaxe.com/mining turns your choices into four settings to paste into your miner.
Who it's for: someone who already owns, or is willing to run, mining hardware. You'll need: a Bitaxe, SHA-256 ASIC, Scrypt miner or GPU (KawPoW), and a Quai Cyprus-1 wallet address if you keep any share.
Steps
- Open quaiaxe.com/mining. The header shows a live/not-live tag. If it says registration is not open, stop; the page will not invent an address.
- Miner type. Pick one chip: Bitaxe, SHA-256 ASIC, Scrypt or GPU / KawPoW. This chooses the algorithm and port.
- Burn share. Drag the slider (10% to 100%, default 100%). The readout shows "burns / to you". The rows beside it show, per 100 QUAI mined, what Buys $QAXE, then destroys it, what is Sent to your wallet, the Maintenance & treasury fee and the Gas refund.
- Payout wallet. Appears when you keep any share. Paste your address (
0x00…, 42 characters, Cyprus-1). - Nickname. 2 to 20 characters: letters, numbers, underscore or hyphen.
- Before you continue. Read the warnings and fee list, tick the consent box, then press Show my mining address.
- Paste these into your miner. You will see four fields with Copy buttons: Stratum Host, Port, User, Password. In Bitaxe's AxeOS, put the host and port in their own fields. The user looks like
<address>.QAXE_<nickname>; the address comes before the first dot and the rest is a label. The page tells you to check the last six characters on your miner's screen.
Ports are 3333 (SHA-256), 3334 (Scrypt) and 3335 (KawPoW). Running your own go-quai node uses the same ports at your node's address instead.
What the burn/keep split means
Of every reward, a fixed 0.5% fee is taken first. Of the rest, your burn share buys QAXE, which is destroyed so total supply shrinks. The remainder goes to your payout wallet. Extra costs on the burned part: a gas refund of at most 3% (paid to whoever runs the collection) and the pool's 1% trading fee on the buy. Your kept share pays only the 0.5% fee. At least 10% always burns.
This is one-way. The burned part cannot come back. Technical detail: QaxeBurnVault.
Rewards take about 14 days
Quai locks every mining reward for about 14 days, so nothing arrives before then. A wrong setup looks the same as a working one for two weeks, which is why the next check matters.
Check that your rig is seen
- Go to the Is my rig working? section on the same page.
- Paste your address or full worker name into Payout address or full worker name.
- Press Check the chain.
"Seen N share(s) in the last blocks" means the network sees your miner. "No shares ... in the last blocks" means either the address isn't the one your rig uses, or no share has landed yet. "Could not reach the chain" says nothing about your miner; retry. To see where burned QAXE ends up, use the supply tracker.
Common mistakes
- Wrong address format. It must start
0x00and be 42 characters. The page flags a wrong zone or a typo (bad checksum). Re-copy it. - Host and port pasted together. AxeOS wants a bare host name and the port separately.
- Unverified pool. Use StratumX solo or your own node unless you have verified another path.
- Expecting instant payment. Shares show in minutes; QUAI takes about 14 days.
